Setting: The breakfast table, I sit kitty-corner to my great aunt and uncle who are debating the best way to transport the blueberry maple syrup they purchased in Maine back to their home in Florida. They'll be making the trip by plane, so the discussion centers on appropriate packing procedures:
"We have to put it in the suitcases, they won't let us take it carry-on"
"Well then you'd better make sure you wrap it up really well, I don't want that bottle breaking and spilling blueberries ALL over my clothes..."
"Yeah, we'll--we'll wrap it up..."
"Better put it in something you won't care if it gets stained..."
"Yeah--"
"Wrap it in your underpants just in case it breaks..."
at which point I had to stop eating my pancakes. I don't know which was making a bigger sacrifice: the underpants for being the blueberry barrier or the syrup for being wrapped in said underpants. Bvvvvvvvvvv...
